Our Rabbis have taught: Samson rebelled against G-d through his eyes, as it says, "Samson said to his father, 'I noticed one of the Philistine women in Timnah…Get her for me, for she is the one that pleases me ... (Judges 14:2, 3). Because of this the Philistines gouged out his eyes, as it says, "The Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes" (Judges 16:2 1). (Sotah 9b)

These days we say Avinu Malkeinu. One of them is: "Batel Machshavos Soneinu - eliminate the thoughts of those who hate us". First of all, this is clearly a reference to the Yetzer Hara as well, who hates us and wants to kill us. However, we can also (loosely) explain this phrase as asking HaShem to eliminate the hateful thoughts in our minds which lead us to sin. Only He can rescue us, and we must constantly ask for His divine assistance to eradicate the impulses which attack us so many times each day.

So next time you get an impulse to act-out, daven to Hashem and say, "Avinu Malkeinu, Batel Machshavos Soneinu!"

Here's something nice I found on a Jewish forum discussing the plague of internet pornography. A Christian woman, Mrs. Robertson from St. Pete, FL writes: "Christians the world over look to the Jewish people to set a holy moral standard for all of us to follow. Don't allow the evil of pornography to pollute your holy offspring. Stamp the devil's agent out of the land. For all of us. May the people of Israel be blessed!"

As Yeshayah Hanavi wrote: "I have set you to be a light unto the nations". So let's leave all the filth out there to the nations of the world. We Jews have a G-dly mission, and all of mankind look to us for inspiration!
