I am married to a wonderful man who happens to be an addict. We have a very open relationship and that was also crucial to his recovery. From reading and interacting on the forums he came to learn about the idea of lusting. He joined Dov’s calls and finds it very helpful. The forum was helpful to him to get out of isolation. It also has helped him learn about certain concepts from other members. One example is the idea of “sex is optional”. Hearing people’s opinions and reactions helped us take the good from it and apply it to our own intimate life. I also think that hearing others share their day to day feelings and realizing, “hey, I am normal!” also helped him a lot.

My wife (the wife of an addict) was referred to go to a group whose meetings are held at 'Church basements'. Is it permissible to step into a church building? I saw the quote of R' Shmuel Kamenitzki, but he's talking of the addict himself - and this is the way he express the 'Heter', but what about the wife?
