maybe finish each chapter in a way that portrays everything thats wrong with moes messed up brain and actions, and how it impact his wifes feelings. I think it would remove every trigger especially with grants writing skills.

And he would not keep us in suspense that much

1) If you could what he writes above, that would definitely be a big help.

2) Also, I think we should move this story to the balabatim's forum. Since that is a place by definition has more triggering things.

3) Perhaps we should place an announcement at the beginning along the lines of what Grant wrote before (here's a rough draft taken from Grant's post, he can shorten it and fix it up if he wants).

DISCLAIMER: This story can be triggering at times, but the author deems it necessary to be blunt about the temptations - just as we experience them on a daily basis, in order to illustrate how if not reigned in, they can lead to places many times worse and to pain many times greater. The story's purpose is to take the reader through the intense desires, pain, dissatisfaction and disappointments that the main characters go through - until hitting rock bottom, in the hope that it will suffice as a tangible portrayal and prediction of one who doesn't gain control. Reading the twisted justifications and wrongful self righteousness, and where they can lead, will hopefully remove the need for one to heaven forbid experience these unfortunate circumstances himself, to gain the clarity reached only through personal experience and realization. To achieve this effect, there can be triggering situations depicted at times. Reader discretion advised.

In any event, if we can do these few things, I agree that you should put back the last chapter and continue as planned...

Thanks for the great story, it's really powerful!

Can we get a maskana from the moderators please?
Poor Grant has been completely derailed this past week. As someone who has been deeply (might I add life-changingly) impacted by his story my firm opinion is that nothing should change. Not a thing. Everything should continue on as if this past week's discussion never happened. And it should stay here where single guys like me can be shaken up and given a few slaps telling us to get ourselves in order before we destroy a marriage. Without Grant's story I'd still in be in a helpless tail chasing yeiush cycle.
But the decision isn't mine to make.

This story seems to be heading towards emphasis on a marriage being destroyed due to lust/porn and it may definitely get to the point of the bb thread being a must

Didn’t mean to press thank you on this post. I am opposed to moving it. We have been exposed to much worse then this story.
We can borrow the phrase from פרה אדומה in regards to this serial:
מטמא את הטהורים ומטהר את הטמאים...

And all of us on GYE , weather we are married or single are at some level טמא.

And we deserve an equal chance to become טהור...

I personally think that the story should stay as is.
There are a lot of aspects of this story that I relate to even besides the porn, masturbation, and cheating (that looks like is about to happen). Chani's loneliness, Moe's rudeness and total lack of realizing what he is doing, Esther's pain, Yehoshua's blissful unawareness, his cluelessness on what his wife needs.
These are all aspects that we all need to hear, and I would venture to say that even bochurim should read. After all, we all have had our minds warped over time to think only about ourselves, and it would help to read that there are other people in a relationship that need things too.

With all that being said, whatever decision is made about this story, I would suggest deleting the whole back and forth regarding what to do. Especially since the original post that set it all off is no longer here. One day down the line, some noob will be reading this thread and will be extremely confused as to what happened here.

I disagree about bochrim. I think there are some parts that can't be understood until in the situation (not because of lack of intelligence or understanding) but agree about the overall sentiment

Here's the situation as I see it. It's definitely not up to me. The Guard is the posek here. According to the ideas he wrote in his last post, for me continuing is not an option. All the ideas that everyone came up with is very nice, but not something I'm willing to implement.

Additionally, moving the story to the BB section is removing the main viewership from accessing the story. The primary intent is for bochurim to be educated how to create a marriage that is free of the terrible effects of uncontrolled lusting.

I'm asking The Guard to please post a final verdict about what is required by GYE standards. I will follow his psak.

Any questions, feel free to email or PM me.

Can we have a breakoff minyan where you can post the story for anyone who is interested?

With all due respect to everyone involved, I think the value of this story as well as the value of Grant to GYE in general has been expressed very well. At this point, I think it would be wise for Harav Grant and Harav Guard to have a private conversation as far as how to proceed in a way that will provide the most benefit possible to the GYE community.

Additionally, I am not sure I agree that the target audience needs to be bochurim. You yourself have said many times that married guys are blinded by lust and make these mistakes until something forces the hard truth onto them. Some people just don't understand until they get married anyway. I think this story would be highly beneficial even in the BB section and feel that many would gain from seeing this new perspective.

All the best and keep up all the good that you are doing.

I think that the forum crowd (certainly those who post) and those who receive the gye chizuk emails are two different groups.

While I think that some things posted can be triggerin' (and I have been guilty at that a time or two or three), i believe in general that experienced posters have shown excellent discretion, and truthfully, if gye is where you are bein' triggered, go for it!

Additionally, I have always held that these things should be in b"b forum (although, at times, I cannot locate it), and bochurim will eventually need to learn. It is not our responsibility to train them in marriage. We are here to fix mistakes.

(The womenfolk who read these is a separate discussion.)

I must concede that I have not really read the story well, but my vote is to brin' back whatever was deleted and continue on.

Thanks Guard, Cords, Grant and everyone else here. To summarize.

1. This thread became the place where we tell the story teller how to tell it.

2. It’s very difficult for the guy behind the mic to follow a script (hey it’s hard enough for him not to take the other look).

Grant, if you do the following we should be good to go.

3. Start a new thread.
I like what Lizhensk did where he has in the Topic header
“PLEASE READ THE FOREWORD“

This way you can write the short trigger warning with some for unmarried guys, and also a request for people not to comment on the Story thread itself.

Can’t wait for the next segment March 2nd

Can’t wait for the next segment March 2nd

No pressure
Think about how good you'll feel if you say no to desire and compare that to how bad you'll feel if you say yes.

Desire is unique in the way that it is never fulfilled -  if you give in the desire comes back even more powerful in just a few days. Telling yourself that its ok because this is really the last time doesn't work because you are just adding new images to your head that will cause future falls.

The Joy of triumph over the yetzer hara is worth the effort it takes to win. It IS worth it! Keep fighting!
